American Heroes

One of San Diego photographer, John Riedy's passions is creating images that honor the men and women of our U.S. military, both past and present. He believes it is important to be reminded of the sacrifices made to ensure our freedom and liberty.

Living in San Diego, the best city in the best country on planet Earth, it's easy to take for granted the liberty and freedom that we enjoy every day.  Over the past three years I've had the honor of working with two organizations whose purpose is to remind us in one case, of the veterans who secured our freedom over sixty years ago in World War II and in the other case, of the current men and women of the military who keep our country safe today and continue to secure the freedoms we fought for in WWII.  The Greatest Generations Foundation is an organization founded to honor the heroes of our military both past and present.  More specifically, the TGGF takes veterans back to the battlefields where they fought.  In addition, TGGF has partnered with The College of the Ozarks in a mission to educate today's youth about the sacrifices of generations past.  The other organization I work with is the National Association of Industrial Office Properties- San Diego Chapter.  NAIOPSD is a member of the Adopt-a-Platoon program and has worked with two Marine Special Operations Companies - Alpha and Delta - in supporting the families while the marines are deployed overseas.  The photos above represent some of the work I have done with both groups.  I have linked to both websites if you would like to learn more or contribute to either worthy cause.
